AGS Therapeutics (www.ags-tx.com) is a preclinical-stage biotech company pioneering microalgae extracellular vesicles (MEVs) as a new, universal, delivery system for innovative therapeutics and vaccines. MEVs have shown to be a safe, targeted and highly versatile delivery system for innovative biologics, such as mRNA, siRNA, DNA, plasmids, and proteins for a broad range of human diseases.
AGS-M (www.ags-m.com), the contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) subsidiary, produces the MEV needed to support preclinical and clinical development of MEV-based product pipelines from AGS and from pharmaceutical partners of AGS. AGS’ MEVs are derived from Chlorella, a two-billion-year-old single-cell algae, classified as GRAS, and used for decades as a food supplement.
With a strong IP position and an experienced and dedicated team onboard, AGS works on proprietary technology platforms including microalgae cell engineering, payload design, biopharmaceutical product development in vitro and in vivo, MEVs manufacturing at lab and pre-industrial scale, MEVs bio-analytics and characterization.
We are seeking to hire motivated professionals with experience in life sciences, engineering, and biotechnology to join the team and help us build and lead a novel, green generation of biopharmaceuticals.
■ Be involved in the execution, and analysis of research and development activities including (1) design and development of novel product candidates, (2) in vitro studies related to the efficacy of MEV-mediated delivery in relevant cell types (by genetic analysis (qPCR, RT- PCR), immunofluorescence, molecular and cell-based assays, among other), (3) the use of MEVs for the treatment of different disorders, (4) outsourced in vivo studies of MEV-mediated delivery and expression of payload, (5) the therapeutic effect of MEV-mediate treatment, (6) the toxicity, tolerability, and immunogenicity of MEV-mediated delivery, (7) in vitro or in vivo studies on the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the biological activity of the MEVs, or their payload, (8) among other opportunely decided.
■ Generate and compile experimental data.
■ Fully comply with traceability and quality assurance procedures in place within AGS.
■ Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, considering laws, regulations, and directives.
■ Eventually, participate in scientific publications and patent applications.
■ Perform and/or supervise experiments; process and analyze experimental data; aggregate, and present research results.
■ Get satisfactorily integrated in the AGS’ team.
■ Be in charge of Banking (cell lines, bacteria, plasmids and constructions, RNAs, etc.).
■ Be responsible of purchases (relations with suppliers and purchase management systems).
■ Technician degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, bioprocess or related field.
■ 3 + years track records in the industry or academic institutions.
■ Hands-on experience with relevant methods and techniques to be used in the proposed job.
■ Be highly motivated, results-oriented with ability to work and deliver.
■ Communication skills in French and English.
■ Previous experience in a biotech environment.
■ Previous experience working in EVs field.
■ Previous experience working in developing and validating analytical methods.
